Tempo Offers Low-Profile Mounting Solution

AVI Systems Turns to Tempo for Speedy Conference Room Installation

When AVI Systems Design Engineer Tom Larson needs a low-profile mounting solution to rapidly deploy conference rooms, he turns to the Tempo™ Flat Panel Floor Support System. As AVI Systems experiments with providing rooms on a subscription basis, Larson is tasked with finding AV products that are fast and easy to install with minimal labor and impact to the facility. Because Tempo™ uses the floor instead of the wall to support displays, this eliminates the need for wall inspection and remediation for time and cost savings across large rollouts.

”The Tempo gives us the ability to install quickly and then come back and remove it without having a major impact, said Larson. We don’t need to deal with all of the GCs and cord drills when installing raceway over the floor as well as [not] dealing with wall backing for displays.”

Another feature Larson appreciates: the number and variety of accessories available for Tempo that cleanly conceal small devices and allow flexibility to mount cameras and speakers at an appropriate height for many types of conferencing setups. Compatibility with Chief Fusion® mounts is a factor for Larson too. Tempo is compatible with LTM1UMTM1ULSM1UMSM1URXF2RLF2 and RMF2 (mounts are sold separately)

“The Tempo has a number of accessories that we like. The AVA1103 is the simple plate that lives within the Tempo that you can mount a number of accessories to. It’s great for UC PCs that might be in there for UC conferencing,” Larson explains. "It also has the AVA1102 which is a two-rack adapter which is for vertical-portrait mounts, so you can install power supply or a network switch. You still have the ability to use the AVA1103 below it. The Fusion mount system has numerous accessories for different ways of mounting cameras [and] speakers that can be incorporated into the Tempo system.”

Larson is also impressed with how the Chief team partnered with AVI Systems to continuously improve Tempo and its accessories for their specific installation needs. “The Chief team has been really responsive to listening to us talk about different ways of mounting power strips within the Tempo and products with a larger footprint than would normally fit on an AVA1103 accessory, and really had great response from the team.”
